Single-word answer questions are used to assess your ability to recall a specific term based on its definition or to identify a specific word of importance in a sentence or short passage. Single-word answer questions look like this:
After you have submitted your answer, you will be presented immediately with the answer page. The below image runs you through the different features you can find on this page and what they mean.
a) Student Answer: This is the answer you gave for the question.
b) Mark Scheme: The Mark Scheme section shows you the potentially correct answers that you could have written. You will need to pick an option if you think you wrote the correct answer for the question. If you have picked an answer but change your mind, you can either untick it or press the 'Clear Answer' button at the bottom of the Mark Scheme section.
c) Explanation: The Explanation section explains why the Potential answers are correct. So, if you're unsure whether you wrote the right answer, then check out the answer explanation!
